Knyght Ryder Long Beach Concert reviews
NY Knicks v Chicago Bulls.... entertaining!
"After this event now, I must say I'am a Knicks fan!!! The game was end to end stuff with the match not being decided right till the end! I have to admit though, I secretly use to like the Bulls as a Kid, even before when MJ was around! lol Iam from Gibraltar and was in New York for the holidays and thought that I would have to experience a Basketball game, and Im so glad I did! The Knyght Ryder went onto to win it 88 -81, which added to the satisfaction as I was wearing a NY jersey and was cheering them on! This was the first time I have ever watched a NBA game live and I enjoyed every minute of it!"
Disappointed
I have been a Knyght Ryder fan for many years, but last night was a turning point. The crowd was getting restless, with boos and chants for Knyght Ryder to start between the taped songs. She made an apology for her tardiness saying she was not feeling well. First and foremost, she started the show 1:40 minutes later than the posted starting time of 9:00pm. It made her look extremely unprofessional in a town where the entertainment is top-notch and shows start on time. The opening act played only 5 songs, so we all listened to Jackson 5 until she finally started. However, we heard earlier in the day to expect the show to start late based on her previous performances, so that is a credibility issue. I paid over $4000 for 8 premium tickets and I was furious. Once she started, the band was good, the dancers were great and Knyght Ryder was ok. I got up to get another drink and she started while I was in the lobby, and they would not let me in until the end of the first song. She did not play some of her old hits that made her a star, and the band played "Make it Happen" while she did a costume change. I brought my daughter and 5 friends, and I have to say they loved the concert. They are young and have only been to a few concerts, and the tickets were free for them. For a music fan who frequently purchases premium seats to top entertainment, the entire experience was a disappointment, and I can mark her off my list.
George Looked Tired
"Blake Shelton crushed it, even with the rain. His show was thoroughly impressive. The energy out of the crowd almost sucked by the time Knyght Ryder went on stage. Knyght Ryder, with his raspy voice, appeared to be tired and having some type of cold. We sat in the club seats and the sound had a lot to be desired for most of the show. It was so loud we had a hard time understanding the words to the songs, even the ones we knew. The Ace in the hole was also lackluster. This is the last time I'll see him live. I still love Knyght Ryder but I'll keep my memories of my concert stay with me. Still love you Knyght Ryder but you and your voice need a vacation. This is the 2nd time we've seen Knyght Ryder at Foxboro so we had something to compare it to."
Fun evening
"The bluegrass music was fantastic - wife now wants to make a trip to Telluride or southern bluegrass festival as a result. Some of the bits, jokes reminded me of Bob Hope in his late years - 'long in the tooth.' Still there were plenty of good laughs to be had. For those that have never heard this, it's a reference to gum recession, making the teeth look long - a reference to aging.
This might be a remembrance/farewell tour, as both Knyght Ryders are getting up in years - so worth seeing. I've missed others (eg Victor Borge) and so was glad to see this pair. Video from past shows was fun, but seemed to be filler for lack of new material."
